9/26

Warm-up:  Read the description of an 8 essay on your rubric.  List in your notebook all the adjectives that describe what an 8 looks like.  Then for each adjective, evaluate your draft to decide if you are meeting that standard.  If not, what should you do to improve?

Classwork:  Station that compares 2 essays on the same photo (one is a 5, one is an 8)  explain what is better, body paragraph and conclusion work, peer editing

Station work on 5 to 8 essays:

On your station looseleaf, identify a body paragraph that is weak (ex: paragraph 2) and then write a few sentences that you will add to that body paragraph to clarify your analysis.  Use the samples as a model.

Homework:  Revise essays - work on station work
