Classwork:  discuss essay outlines from yesterday, fix essays so that argumentative have at least 3 reasons and analytical have strategies tied to deep purposes of meaning not vague purposes of catching attention, time to work on T-Z glossaries

PD 3- Are stereotypes dangerous or a useful tool for assessing others?  Explain.  (1 pg response with examples)

Classwork:  identify 3 strategies or syntax choices from anywhere in the "Myth" and explain their function and importance to the work.  For one of them, write a full paragraph that would be in an analytical essay about how the author develops her purpose.

Homework:  Read "Being a Man" LoC pg 378-381 and answer 1-8 pg 381-2

Warm-up:  Identify the first 3 sentences of About Men as simple, compound, complex, or compound-complex.  Write the subjects and verbs for each of the sentences. 

Classwork:  quiz on About Men, identify 2 rhetorical strategies and one interesting syntax/style choice and explain the effect of each of the 3 choices, discuss About Men and begin "Myth of the Latin Woman"
